History
HIRA School has, alhamdolillah, been operating for over a decade. We first opened in September 2011, at HIRA Centre, where we taught a variety of age groups. During the pandemic, we moved to Zoom due to government restrictions on gatherings. Once these restrictions were lifted, we moved to Reach Academy, where we are now based. Below you’ll find a timeline with images:
HIRA School opens its doors to the local community in Feltham, offering Arabic, Quran and Islamic Studies lessons for children, based at HIRA Centre.
September 2011
HIRA School organises a fun day, where students received certificates and celebrated their achievements! With the grace and mercy of Allah, we had completed our first academic year!
July 2012
HIRA School organises a Quran Competition, the first in Feltham! Students memorised their Surat, then read them to some Imams from HIRA Centre who regularly lead Taraweeh and the 5 daily prayers. A great opportunity for students to make new friends and meet Imams! The competition was followed by an awards ceremony where influential figures from the Hounslow Council (such as Seema Malhotra) came to celebrate with us.
July 2015
HIRA School organises a Fun Day! Students engaged in egg and spoon races and arm wrestles. Some got their faces painted, others had candy floss together, and overall enjoyed the activity packed day!
April 2016
HIRA School organises a Ramadan Party where students learnt about the importance of Ramadan. They drew, laughed and ate together. New friends were made, new memories were made, and alhamdolillah everyone had an amazing time.
June 2016
HIRA School moves its lessons to Zoom due to the pandemic rather than HIRA Centre. Students learnt Arabic, Quran and Islamic Studies at home.
September 2020
HIRA School moves to Reach Academy, where we are now based. We have been teaching there for 4 years now alhamdolillah, and still have plans to continue planning events to keep all our students engaged! Registration and lessons will be at Reach Academy.
